In her essay “Marijuana: An argument for legalization “(June 24, 2014) Quinne Sember
writes about the debate for total legalization of marijuana is solid and numerous people are in
favor of a law to make it possible. While 22 states plus the District of Columbia allow use of
medical marijuana only two states Colorado and Washington allow for recreational use. The
criminalization of marijuana in 2000 and in is estimated to have cost the United States $3.6
billion, however, the legalization of marijuana could generate a revenue near five billion dollars
per year. Which in return could be used to fund things such as Health Care, education, and
structures, Sember argues. Furthermore, the American Medical association has acknowledged
that marijuana has an impressive effect treating conditions such as nausea, glaucoma, extreme
