 Fluid overload – increase BP, RR and HR – monitor vitals
 Swelling in picc line – measure circumference of both arms and tell the doctor
 PT ventricular pacemaker is on EKG – look for spiking before QRS complex
 High potassium (over 5.0) – cardiac monitor – flat P wave, tall T wave
 Increased trans-fat = risk for cardiovascular disease
 Acute HF followed by MI – giving an isotonic solution is incorrect – serum potassium levels, morphine PRN
 Troponin level to check if PT had MI
 Atelectasis causes hypoxemia (low levels of O2 in blood)
 QT interval depicts both depolarization and repolarization
 Left sided HF = frothy sputum
 Hypovolemic shock – liquid portion of blood is too low (will have oliguria, low urine output)
 MI – nausea, vomiting, diaphoresis
 Congestion of lung to COPD and can’t bring up sputum – stay hydrated (2-3L)
